Bill Bleyer is the author of George Washington’s Long Island Spy Ring: A History and Tour Guide, published in May by The History Press. He is coauthor, with Harrison Hunt, of Long Island and the Civil War and author of Sagamore Hill: Theodore Roosevelt’s Summer White House; Fire Island Lighthouse: Long Island’s Welcoming Beacon, and Long Island and the Sea: A Maritime History. A prize-winning staff writer for Newsday for 33 years, Bleyer has been an adjunct professor at Webb Institute, the naval architecture college in Glen Cove, N.Y., and Hofstra University.
John A. Strong is a professor emeritus of history and American studies at Long Island University. He is the author of numerous books, including The Montaukett Indians of Eastern Long Island and The Unkechaug Indians of Eastern Long Island.
Erin Becker-Boris is Managing Director of the Huntington Learning Center in Patchogue, New York and an independent historian whose research focuses on the convergence of women, labor, and the environment.
Suzanne Johnson is President of the Rocky Point Historical Society and was nominated for the Suffolk County Woman of Distinction Award in 2022.
